Yogis on YD?

We all know that maintaining a good level of physical fitness makes you a better (and safer) diver. Bacon sarnies, pies and beer are all wonderfully tempting.

I swim as much as I can fit in, ride my bicycle for the majority of appropriate journeys (i.e. when I don't have to carry a lot of stuff or be dressed smartly) and I love my yoga classes.

The particular benefits I've noticed in my diving are that my air consumption is pretty good and keeping my joints & back in good condition make it much easier to get in and out of my wetsuit.

So the question is: How many yogis and yoginis are there here in YD land?

Namaste!

Diving is very much like making love to a beautiful woman, first you do some checks of the site for favorable conditions, then you go down for as long as you can,and if part of your buddy brief you maybe able touch the bottom, then you start to make your way to the end you come up breathless smiling and your cylinders empty.

I've been doing Yoga since I was about 14, and use it more for meditation. It's also useful for freediving too.

Would like to get into it more again - work and home life got in the way but I need to make time for it again.

Its a dangerous thing that Yoga......

I've got a mate who is a Yoga addict.

Its very sad really. He started off as a healthy smart guy with a purpose, and someone suggested he try some Yoga. So he went and did some one evening.
He said it made him feel ok, and that he'd like to do it again sometime.

Next thing is he's doing it a couple of times a week and thinking he can handle it - maybe its even good for him - you know, helping him to relaxxxxxxxxxx.

Now he's doing it every day. He finds it hard not to talk about it to his friends, he buys books and clothes and mats to feed his addiction, and starts to feel shit if he misses a session. Where have we heard that story before?

Ban it I say.

Tough on Yoga, tough on the causes of Yoga.

I'm on about three yoga classes a week man, but I can handle it!
