    Question Anybody not eat fish?

Just curious to know if there are any divers out there who don't eat fish because they feel it isn't environmentally friendly or a similar reason.
    Comments welcome.

I like fish too much but tend to avoid species like cod until the stocks improve.

My last dive in the UK only saw 6 fish in a 50 minute dive - it was then that I realised we were raping the seas with no chance of it rebuilding....

Fish is the most common thing people say they cannot eat when i cook meals aboard. Closely followed by cheese, mushrooms and tomatoes.

I read a letter in a diving mag a few years ago by a very smart person, who said that if you eat fish and dive you have no right to complain if you don't see any fish. That was probably the point I stopped eating fish and seafood.
I know people talk about sustainable fishing but I'm sometimes feel this just means "there's more of these fish left". How long will it be before we stop seeing pollack where we used to see them all the time.

I considered giving up seafood after feeling a bit guilty eating stuff I've been diving with the weekend before but it's just too yummy.

I'm not going to lie I found it a bit upsetting on the camping weekend when a lobster caught on a dive was knifed in the head and boiled alive but god damn it was yummy! I went from, 'right if I see any lobster on tomorrow's dives they can live another day', to 'where's my net bag and is it big enough' in the space of half an hour.

I'm not a huge fan of fish but do feel guilty if I (very rarely) eat some.

Just cannot bring myself to eat lobster or crab as they are so much more enjoyable to watch!

(Plus, as lobsters can live to 100 years of age, so surely the old timers (that's the bigger ones of course) deserve a bit of respect).

Yeah I'm with you on that. The really big and really small should just be poked and let to go on their way for sure.
