Question Who's been in the pot? (multi option)

OK, lots of people wanted additional options and the ability to select multiples, so i've decided to create a NEW, improved pot poll!

I think this one is better.

Never been potted, don't want to either.

Someone once said to me that I wasn't a real diver because I'd never been bent, I told him he was a pr*ck.

Yep - last year. Was within my dive profile and missed no stops (unless using US navy tables which don't count the SI). Was diving close to the limts though with a lot of heavy kit so can understand why.

I did a Pot dive during my Novice Training when we got blown out for an OW dive. (I Learnt at HMNB Devonport so the facilities were there)
After that, I NEVER want to end up in a pot again. I hated every second of it.
Obviously If I end up bent, I would rather be recompressed than not, but I suspect I will hate it then as well.

John

Red face

Luckily have never had to be in pot - for the right reasons! Phew.

But, in 1991, I did miss every stop on the way up from 74 metres on air (21%) on a single ally 80 - TWAT! Luckily all I bent was my computer (which locked for 48 hours and never stopped beeping whilst alluding to some alarming CNS warnings). Came up on fumes and a very narked buddy.

Not an experience to be repeated any time soon!

No, but only probably cos the Big Man has been looking after me....

When the first Aladins came out (mid 1980s) I guess we weren't quite as aware as we should have been of the fact that it is you that get bent not your computer. I remember having a superb dive with a couple of mates on the Pinnacles in Loch Bay near the Stein Inn on Skye.

The Pinnacles start at about 6ms and bottom out at over 20ms and we would grab a boulder and throw ourselves off the cliff and see who would be first to the bottom. Then we would race up to the top giggling like monkeys, grab another boulder and do it all over again (repeat for about 5 or 6 times)....

Hey, it was alright the computer said so (although we did expect to see a little wheel chair move across the screen of the Aladin)
Hmm. Don't think I would do that now (but it was fun. ).

Regards

Simon
