Witney by-pass

Helen as a Chelters person you may have seen a advert on a building off the Witney by-pass. It reads (as best I can remember),
"Our buns are sweet and sticky, like Fanny's". As my grandmother was called Fanny I make no comment about her buns.....

It does as far as I can see justify all the pedantry you like about punctuation.

teeth now on edge

reading that list has put my teeth on edge. I pity the next fool who crosses my path with an ill-advised sentence construction.

BUT, and this is a really important point ...

surely we have proved that pedantry has as much interest for the YD community as Deco theory? And they got their own forum! We demand a voice!

I voted "other"

I really hate when people use "appraise" instead of "apprise" when they want to inform me of soemthing. Grrrrr. I think at work, I get told at least once a day "I want to appraise you of xxxxxxxx".

No, you dont you numpty; but if I was doing your appraisal, I would apprise you of the fact that you got a D (as in D for dunce).

There, that feels better.... calm... calm...

Really? Perhaps my dictionary isn't wrong, afterall...

Edit: I'm doubting myself now. Did you change the poll, or am I going mad. I suspect the latter. Arrrgh! Hovering helicopters of doubt!

I'm sure that's a medical condition, although not one that's common amongst the ladies of 'emel.
