When I put it together, I only had O2 grease. You use so little of it, the cost is not really an issue. Martin (my Instructor) fells that silicone attracts crap more than O2 grease, he stresses that's his own opinion, but Silicone does seem thicker. hth Paul |

| O2 for the high pressure fittings and silicone on all the rest, since it is at ambient pressure the odds on getting a fire are so slim as to be rediculous, what is going to cause combustion. Silicone, is 1/10th the price, plus does not leave a deposit over time. Andrew

| I use O2 grease on everything, you use so little that it makes no odds - still got the original syringe of the stuff from when I first got the box & it's about half full. PSSST.... Wanna hear about the LDS owner and supposed YBOD inst who used vaseline on my unit's o-rings when he decided they weren't sufficiently slopping in O2 grease (I had lent the unit to a mate who was doing his mod1 somewhere warm & sunny with said instructor) and couldn't find anything else? What a feckin twat. |

| I thin that has to go up s a name and shame. That's just shoddy. |

| Oh, don't get me started on the bastard. Trouble is, he's my LDS and I've known him personally for years. Not to worry, now again on club nights - after a babycham or two - I'm not averse to ripping the piss out of the sod. Got to stick a bit of boot in now and again And he did replace the O-rings when I made a fuss and embarassed him in front of his trainees. Really pisses him off I've got hundreds more hours on the box than he does.. Last edited by Rob Evans : 05-01-05 at 07:05 PM. |

| Hi Shaun, I use O2 grease on the o-ring on the head, the cannister o-ring and the o-ring on the h/p hose to the solenoid. I do not use anything other than spit on any of the other o-rings on the RB (apart from the mouthpiece where if I strip it I use silicon). Obviously for diluent first stage and O2 first stage I use O2 grease, but for all the others only saliva. Never had a problem. Cheers Dave Cooper |

| O2 grease on O2 injector silicon on hose connections spit on inflators and canister o rings then only to make them not dry generally don't grease them O2 injector gets a bit every now and then and spit used in assembly |

| I just use O2 grease on everything. Just seems easy and I'm willing to pay the tiny extra for the ease. Juz
