| I'm in the same camp as Mr Chase on this one. Currently I dry out the scrubber immediately aftere diving, I've got a couple of stoppers for the connectors on the scrubber unit. I use these to seal it up for the week. In reality if I've done two dives on it over a couple of weekends, the third I'll refill... as the man says what's £7.50 in the big scheme???? Never been comfortable to leaving the unit open for any length of time although I know many people that do. |

| Hello, This is my 3 scrubber that I am using and after I emptied the contents, the material inside was all lose as if new (new does not mean without Co2 and can be reused!!) and no lumbs in it. I used it in the 30m range so not that deep maybe as Chasey but is it normal to ahve lumps in the material?

Try leaving a ball of sperasorb and a grain of sofnolime in a glass of water by your bed overnight (make sure you don't drink it) You will find the spherasorb still there in the morning, but the sofnolime has disolved. When you wet the lime in the canister, it partly disolves, then drys and re-forms into the lumps, the extent of the lumps depends not on the depth range, but on the volume of moisture you pass into the canister. There is. Diffusion. Passage of a material from an area of high concentration to an area of low concentration. Agreed in the case of CO2 it's low in comparisson to breathing but it's still there and you're potentially talking a much longer exposure. The nett effect will also be increased by the water exiting the scrubber from high to low conc. In practice I go with the ziploc bag as well for one weekend to the other if I know I'm not pushing any of the accepted limits. Other than that - any doubts, bin it. Lee |
