Saving a Wet Cell?

Hi Folks,

tore a bag yesterday and managed to completely flood the loop and scrubber. Afterwards the cells read for a bit, then read low (which I guess means the voltage is dropping) and then read nothing. Are they completely dead now or is there a way to resurrect them? I don't know I'd trust them in the RB but I have a few projects they might be useful for. They are Teledyne R17D's if that makes any difference.

i persoanlly would resign that to the bin............is it worth arsing around with for how much they are really??

bugger, stuart im thinking thats it for the little batterys the only chance i would see is a dryout over very low heat to remove any moister from the inturnals..but i would think you have lose them and as you say i would think twice about using them in a breather. sorry mate not a lot of help...

so what happend? and are you ok?

I was having a little pootle at Dorothea and thought I heard a bit of gurgling from somewhere. Feeling quite smug that I was diving it sidemount rather than backmount I took it off to check it out. Unclipped it, pulled it up in front of me, it was a bit awkward to breathe it that way so I switched to OC (luckily). I hit the dil purge to see if I could see any bubbles... boom... I could lie but... To cut a long story short, lots of dil, no dump valve, kaboom. Lots of swearing, back to shore, dump it on the platform, it looking like a clubbed seal. Grumble, grumble, grumble. Especially when a load of divers dumped their fecking fins, masks, etc on top of it... Still, they managed to knock it over, pissing caustic water all over their masks. I hope they wash their kit when they get home.

Fine and dandy, cheers for asking. I had luckily switched to OC when it happened.

I'd only gone to try out my new torch... worked a treat!!!

Which reminds me of something else to moan about... new thread on it's way...

im thinking of getting together a little breather trip together at dotty would you be up for it? as the last get together was....just me, duncan prise and digger............! as you lot didnt turn up!
im prety should theres a lot of the band from Yd crowd wanting to come

I do love 'em, they've made diving exciting again!!!

New scrubber is due this week from Switzerland and I've a few mods I want to make to the set up, so I'll probably be there next Saturday.

Yeah, I think we should have a get together. Sounds like a good laugh. The only w/e's I don't have anything on are next w/e and 7/8th May then the next is June.

More likely I'll be diving the dog of an Inspie you saw at the weekend. Still who needs a negative pressure test anyway... The loop soon stops bubbling once it's full of water...
