Where does lime go when you dump it on the ground?

Nowhere.

It just sits there, like a greying pile of mouse shite.

So, fer feck sake, stop dumping it in the grass, in the trees, in the buildings, etc., at Dorothea.

It isn't going anywhere, it's an eyesore and it's just going to get people even more pissed of at people who dive there.

I've had a pile of slime outside my garage for the best part of 6 months, rain, wind, snow... and it's still there, it isn't going anywhere and the elves haven't come to clean it up. How hard is it to pour it into a placcie bag and dump it in a bin?

Bloody hell, do you want to give the people who want us out of Dorry any more ammo?

I'm sure no YD-ers would be so irresponsible

Rant over.

OK, apart from... where the hell did all the buoys come from??? In seven years of diving Dorry, I got lost for the first time when I came up the wrong line. Do we really need two lines to the 40m ledge within 20ft of each other???!?!?!?

Rant definitely over this time!!!

Sofnalime is composed of Sodium hydroxide (NaOH) and calcium hydroxide (Ca(OH)2).
Both of these react with carbon dioxide to form sodium carbonate (Na2CO3) or sodium bicarbonate (NaHCO3) both of which soluable and also calcium carbonate (CaCO3) chalk)), which is insoluable.

So the slimy mass is probably a mix of chalk and some of the sodium carbonate and sodium bicarbonate.

It is recommended that it is taken to your local rubbish dump and put in the concrete bin (probably). ;-) Just tell them it is kitty litter they wont be too interested to poke around if it is in a bag !!!

Why

True
I Dive at dore a lot.
So why turn the place in to dump.
We have the following
Beeer cans (fat gits)
Cafiter endS(show offs)

Why dory is now a tip due to divers or so called divers.
Then they will blame any one.
This weekend people would just empty all there waste from there car and drive off.

OK SO NOW LETS TAKE THERE REG AND PUT IT ON THE SITE AND SEE WHAT THEY SAY.

Another thing I noticed is the number of dead batteries chucked in the water round the platform. It's really sad, we are just giving those that want us out a rod for our own backs.

Good idea, Rob.
