VR3 comms

Hi all, I’ve recently purchased a VR3 plus the Prolog software and IR interface.
I’m having problems downloading the dives from the VR3 to the PC. Reading through the literature provided with the download kit it says something about entering a key (numbers and letters) in the VR3. The only key that arrived was the one to enable the VR3 to go CCN, this was a sticker on the box plus inside the manual.
My PC sees the VR3 and starts the down load process but then aborts before completion?

Any suggestions on how to put this right? Delta P are closed until Monday or I would call them direct.

One more thing, how do you run Pro Planner on XP?

Ok I have figured out how to run Pro Planner on XP but still no luck with getting the VR3 to talk to the PC, come on guys someone must have done this before.

there is a pin to open the vr3's software to enable the download with prolog.
the supplier of the unit will be able to give you the pin number if you bought the prolog,if your using the one that now comes with the vr3 you will find it was free and is a look see disc that requires a payment to become active for downloads.

Now that the VR3 site is working again I had a look through the VR3 forum and found out it's not unknown for Delta P to forget to put in the PIN number with the down load kit. I've E mailed them so should get a reply and be up and runnig soon enough.

As Barrie said, you should have got another PIN number when you bought the download kit. Enter it as you did with the one on the box. When you go to the PIN menu you should see under the serial number what type of VR3 you have i.e. NxOC and a 3P if the PIN has taken for the pc interface. Let me know if you need further info

I had word back form Delta P, they told me to contact DeepBlue who I bought the computer from and they would give me a pin number. Would have done it already but I'm stuck offshore for a while.

Its not actually Delta P's fault that the PIN number isn't in the box. What is supposed to happen is that you give your VR3s serial number to the people you buy the download kit from, they contact Delta P and get the new PIN number and send it to you with the kit. The problem is that many shops forget to ask you for the serial number (or don't have the ability to ask you for it online) so it doesn't arrive with the download kit. Doh!

That's what it sounds like Nick, trouble was that when I received the computer and the download kit they had been opened by security. So it could have been put in the box and lost somewhere along the line. I was inclined to think it was either left out by Delta P or the security clowns were being sloppy so got on to Delta P asking for one. It now looks like it’s down to Deep Blue. Not that much of a problem right now though as I’m working, I’ll see how quick they are to solve the problem when I get home. Still can't figure out how to play the game that comes with it though. It wont be a problem for a kid though, I'll get one to show me how. God knows predictive text on the cell phone is enough to drive me to breaking point.
