Pick-and-mix kitty litter.

Probably stupid question of the week.

I have some Drager Divesorb, but not enough for a fill of my Dolphin scrubber. I can't think of a reason not to mix it with sofnolime, can anyone else?

Well I wouldn't stir them in together, I'd try and make it two layers so it acts like two sequential scrubbers but I'd do it.

Before acting on my advice you do realise I am reasonably mad?

For the sake of 1 fill I would not risk it. Inspiration sorb is of different size to that of dolphin (different surface area to volume ratio) It might sound ok but is it really worth the risk?

Different limes have different flow characteristics. Dragersorb granules as I recall are designed not to pack so tight as a finer, more irregular granule like sofnolime. I don't know exactly what would happen but you may well get an increase in WOB. Personally, I'd use one or the other, not both. For the sake of a few quid.

Know nothing about breathers, but did some particle stuff years ago.

Mixed particle sizes pack more tightly that constant so would say mixing is a big no no.

But also be careful that if layering that the smaller particles do not clogg the air flow through the larger ones. So if you are going to do it make sure it is layered with the smaller ones as the last in the the air flow. But even then you may have a problem.

Drager Sorb is a larger grain size than Inspiration which is 1-2.5mm so Don't mix - it is not worth it unless your life is worth less than a Fiver!!!

Do it. Get the two, mix them thoroughly before you fill, then go ahead. I've used sorb which has granules of different sizes before, and it will work fine. Take a chance, I wouldn't push it to 5 hrs on the scrubber but it will more than happily do the job for the rated.

All these worryers. I don't know, it's only CO2. Poofs.

Digs.
