Thumbs up KISS Theory complete.
I completed the theory and stripped and reassembled the KISS on Friday 2nd Feb., the test was not too hard. I have arranged the Confined water for the 5th March in Guildenburgh I did Guildenburgh in Jan with the club and it was Dull Dull Dull. Worse than Capernwray and more silty than Wastwater at the Gnome garden.

I'll be heading out to Stoney over the 9th - 11th March though for the OW section.

I'll post nearer the date to ee if anyone wants to say hello.

How did you find it - I was dreading bulding up the unit, as I'm a bit of a gorilla-hands and have a penchant for cross-threading things, but when I got mine it was far, far easier then I expected. It is a beautifully designed unit.

It all went fine, including the exam. i'm ordering a few new bits which I think would make it more reliable. The stripping down and rebuilding is no sweat. I love fettling, and am having to learn to leave it if it isn't broken.

Roll on March and qualifying.

Same here. If you ever xthread the mount points in the DSV let me know.
A friend of mine got hold of some helicoils of the correct size and can fit them on a per hole basis. Works a treat. No more metal to plastic threadding. much easier to dismantle the DSV to grease the o-rings

No. We did all our OW dives at Stoney - 8 in all, totalling 500 minutes in the water with one dive to 34m. On four of the dives you are required to carry a stage with bailout (we did five dives with the stage, first just to get used to it).

To avoid cross-threading, apply a bit of pressure and turn in the direction you would to unscrew - when you hear a click threads are aligned and you can then tighten without cross-threading.
