| KISS Training - Entry Criteria I'm a complete novice to rebreather diving. However i've done quite a bit of research to realise that going the route of SCR would be a waste of money, and a better route would be CCR, although my depth range has been nothing deeper than 40m. From what i've read/seen on YD and rebreather world, I like the look of the KISS sport. I like the concept of continuous flow o2 design, 3 cell readout etc. Despite only diving up to the 40m range, i still think CCR is the way to go. The benefits for deco on CCR outweigh SCR. With SCR your never really sure what your breathing 'in the loop' do you? I'm currently qualified as SAA club diver & PADI Advanced open water cross over with Nitrox qualification up to 40%. I've done nearly 300 dives. I dive with either twin 12's or a single for shallow stuff. I'm seriously into underwater video and stills. see my website www.subseaimages.com Reasons for going rebreather for me are, (not necessarily in order of importance): 1. gas efficiency. The thought that i could do a weekends club diving on a 3 l bottle of diluent and o2 is brilliant (dependant on scrubber of course)! 2. much less weight than twin 12's and s/s backplate etc etc... 3. silent for photography and video 4. love the technology behind them, although having done my research they pre-date open circuit scuba! The question is, what courses do i need to take to mCCR? |

| I think you need to have some Nitrox knowledge, mainly to understand the theory. I would chat with several instructors and see which one works for you. They should be able to advise you as to the pre-requisites. I did my MOD 1 with Dave Thompson (write up on RBW Here) and can thoroughly recommend him. He's a nice bloke to boot. Janos
