| Good article, the rebreather sounds terrifying- twin 12s! I gave up OC to save my back, just the thought of this makes it hurt. BTW, I thought that the RB80 had a passive addition, with a one-way valve in the bellows to dump a fraction of the loop gas every breath, giving you some fresh gas each cyle- ala the Swiss EDO-4 What if this valve fails closed, are you not rebreathing the same gas, thus rebreathing the loop more than you are supposed to (and dropping the ppO2)? Is this not a serious failure point? Just wondering... |

| Fantastic write up and a fantastic achievement. Well done to all of you thats the toughest intro (to any type of Rebreather) I have ever read. Welcome to warm moist gas. You will really appreciate it in the next couple of months. A RB80 can only mean some big dives planned and I am already looking forward to reading the trip reports. ATB Mark Chase
