most amusing part of the course was Rich comparing his Meg, with twin 2 litre cylinders, to Clare & Al's new RB80's with twin 12's attached, it was taken all in good spirits from both sides especially when Rich caught Clare taking their suit inflation tins for filling and suggested they'd be better as primary cylinders

was good to meet Al for the first time and interesting to see the RB80's close up
Nice to meet you too Gary - well done on the course.

As for our bailout - well it's an appropriate size, I tried teasing Richie on that one too but he gave as good as he got

Cheers
Al

First of all well done on passing the course, I also found Mod 1 a challenging course, back to been a newbie diver and all that.

It's a pity your not diving CCR over the coming season, your likely to loose/forget the skills taught on the course. You'll most probably need to do a refresher if you start diving a unit in the autumn (may even be a condition of your Mod 1 cert).

[EDIT] Obviously, don't do any deep scheduled OC dives on CCR, build up from 20m.

Last edited by jptaylor9 : 04-03-08 at 09:19 AM. Reason: Later posts seem to imlply I'd recommend doing deep dives on CCR post course.

yes, its just that the diving I've got booked isn't really newbie qualified CCR compatable

exactly what Rich and I spoke about after the course, Rich offered a refresher day if there was any time delay in getting a unit, or alternatively if I didn't get a Vision, but got a Classic for example

as I'm fairly conservative they'd be no chance of me doing anything risky

Cracking report, well done M8. From the sound of things a very comprehensive Mod1 course and you did extreemly well to cope with some of the skills thrown at you.

Well done Gary and a ggod choice using Richie for the course.

l did Mod 1 with someone else and Mod 2/3 with Richie and l wished l'd doe mod 1 with him as well. His only problem is that he is a Man Utd supporter

Hi Gary
I did my Mod1 with Skiverdiver and I know he has decided to give up UK diving and is looking at selling his classic. It is a very tidy unit and I know it is well looked after.
There was an advert in the personal advert section. Not sure if he has sold it yet though.
John
