| Do you mean what backup tables to use for constant ppO2 diving? I don't know about many units, but I've found some tables at the back of Bozenich's (sp?) book which might be useful to you. I'm going to have to use tables of some sort or plan on the lowest nitrox mix for the dive when mine goes constant ppO2, because a VR3 is a long way off yet. A long long way off. lIke so far it's just a dot on the horizon. And the VR3 is not a small computer!!! |

One method described to me was to treat it as OC since it's too complicated to manually keep a set point during deco, so check the PPO2 at depth, ascend - still monitoring PPO2, at 20m set to 1.6, stop then ascend, a 6m set to 1.6 again and complete deco. r Paul |

| Friend of mine swears by "5, 10, 15 and then head for the silvery stuff 'cos that's where life is!" (For those more technical types that's 5 mins @ 9m, 10 mins @ 6m, 15 mins @ 3m - never tried it myself!) HTH Robert |

| Well, the tables I have are a little bit more than the nitrox mix for bottom depth basically, which I personally think isn't really fair, when you think about decoing on ideal mixes all the way up. That said, I've not planned it out yet. What about just printing it off a program? You could get profiles pretty easy, and bailout options from most that will do CCRs. Just run through common dives you're going to be doing and if you can't get one that's close run it through the night before. That said, you could just sit it out with your OC buddies and laugh at how much warmer you are I suppose! I was cold today after an hour and a bit, and John seemed toasty. Another good reason to get one.... |

| Errr... backup tables? There are tons of CCR divers who don't use VR3s or Nexuses (Nexi? Alan Partridge - Touch My Face) but tables and timers. V-Planner does constant PO2, as does ddPlan and Proplanner. I suspect there are plenty more. Does that answer the question or am I completely failing to get a grip of what you're asking? PS ddPlan is free, so you can download it and see how it all goes. Yummy DOS front end as well |

| Maybe I am too new to CCR to answer, but couldn't you just use a software just as you would have done with OC. I already played a bit with proplanner and works ok. I think also, what you can do is use a Vytec preprogrammed with 3 mixes approximatly to your planned depth and deco mixes! Just switch the Po2 to %mix. Eg if you dive to 30m with a Ppo2 of 1.3, you can set your computer to a 32% mix, then if you have all large amout of deco at 6m with a Ppo2 of 1.3 then 80% (What expereienced divers think about this, would this be too conservative) NB. Turbonator just to clarify that I haven't done my CCR course yet so mine are just toughts !! Regards Pierre Farrugia

You are correct, I sort of reworked the question when I said : >Not just backup, maybe I should have added how do people without VR3s or a Nexus plan deco. Maybe I should say what I mean : "I can't afford a VR3, how dow I work out CCR deco?" Just been looking at DDplan, lovverrrlllly typing instead all of this point-and-click armchair diving ![]() r Paul |

| Hooray! I finally got a question right! <warm glow> Wish I'd been this much of a smartarse when I was doing my A levels... ddPlan also exports dive plans to HTML so you can print & laminate 'em. Am tinkering with V-Planner at the mo and like it a lot, bit more user friendly when messing with parameters. |
