I have a leak.

My modified draeger has developed a leak which has been getting worse for a few months despite numerous attempts to find and fix it.

The Problem is this: Afer an hours dive there is about half a cup full of water in the inhalation bag and some drops in the output side of the scrubber.

I've had the unit fully rigged up in the bath and under quite a bit of pressure but the only thing I found was a tiny pin prick which I aquasured up, there are no other traces of a leak anywhere on the loop, so wheres it coming from ?

Anyone any ideas on how else I can test it to find the leak ?

Cheers
Karl

hi karl the water in the scruber trap sounds no more than condensation coming from the scrubber i asume it holds a good neg and pos test?

i also get some condensate in the inhale some times a good bit but it's not water from outside. remenber you will get more condensation in a ccr over a scr.
are you diving in the salty stuff? if so taste whats in the bag just to make shore it's sea water
other than that start making shore all the fittings are tight and then change the orings after giving it a good clean
hope this helps
kind regards john routley

Hi John good to hear from you again, yep it does hold good pos/neg test thats the puzzling bit and yes there is condensation in the scrubber.

I did a 30 min dive at treadur bay yesterday in about 6m, when I checked the inhale bag it was deff salt water, about an egg cup full. I've just dismantled the scrubber ports and cleaned all the orings, I hadn't touched these since I bought the new scrubber a few months ago and they seemed packed full of grease, maybe too much. so I'll give it a go on wednesday.

Regards
Karl

mmmmm.dont you just hate the little niggles!
what are you using for po2 karl? is it ambiant pressure?
if your still having problems remove the p-ports and give them a clean around the backnut
there's so many places it could get in.
kind regards john routley
