Try Dives at the Dive Show.

I'm off to the dive show and wondering whether it was worth trying to get an inspiration try dive whilst I'm there.

I've never worn a rebreather before but am thinking of making the change as soon as funds will stretch to one - but this will take some time.

So, is it worth my while to have a go whilst I am down there or is the pool far too shallow to give my a representative feeling of what being in the water with one is like?

I have done these try dives and they are great if you just want a quick go of a unit.

Be sure to take your qualification card along with you, and go to the pool to book your go as soon as you get to the show for a decent timed slot.

If you are wanting a full on try dive, then this probably isnt the time or place to do it.

Thanks,

I'm just really wanting a quick go to see what they are like in general and how they feel on my back compared to the twins.

Sounds like it could be just the thing for me.

I've had a go and it's well worth doing. However the pool they have is very shallow (about a metre or so) and so although it's a useful experience, it's no substitute for a 'proper' try-dive.

It is good fun though, and it makes you realise how much of a numpty you will be again. I managed to bang my nose a couple of times on the bottom as when I breathed in, I still kept on sinking!

Craig, just do it mate, ive been on an inspiration for nearly 2 years now, and i certainly will never swap back !

Have to say they dont suit everyone, forget all you ever learned about boyancy and basically learn to dive again, you wont be disapointed, so just go for it and all the best !!

Hi Craig,

As a newly qualified Mod1 diver with a nice shiny (2 week old) evolution, I'd definitely say go for it. I tried a unit first in the pool at the dive show 2 years ago and even though it all seemed to happen so fast, it definitely got me hooked - just took me a long time to come up with the readies!

Hi Craig,

GO FOR IT

You may never have another chance to have a go on one,

This is where i done my first try dive on the INSPERATION and then went out to Menorca to do my mod 1 course and i have not looked back since.

If you are going my advise is to book up very early to advoid dissapoint

John

I'm considering doing one of these at this years show as well if I can get on the list. Do they still use the pool in the hotel (I forget its name) or do they have a portable pool in the show like they used to ?

Don't do it. They will drag you off to the yellow side, never to return.
