Build cost for the D5 is <£500 + O2 monitoring system. I've now got a very nice custom dual ppO2 display as used on Rick's (£240). His has been to 120 m (in France) and has been in and out of Wookey Hole on three occasions so far. Rick and John Volanthen have both been to the end - John used a modified chest mount unit here: http://ww1.hns.net/rebreather/ |

| I've seen Duncan's and it's not a bad old bit of kit. Worrying amount of plumbing fittings, water bags, rocket tubes and Swagelok fittings though.... but it looks that simple even I could see how it worked. Anyway- for all you homebuild rebreather builders out there, never mind B&Q and army surplus, have a look at proper industrial plastic fittings. Here are some links for you: Plastic sheet: www.plasticsplus.co.uk Industrial plastics: www.georgefischer.co.uk Valves and fittings: www.eurovalve-uk-ltd.co.uk Flexible hoses: www.flexibleconnections.co.uk or arco.co.uk The flexible connections guys will also weld up polyurethane counter lungs for you. Tough as old boots.

Duncan PS. Will someone rate my posts as dodgy as I'm trying to "improve" my record. PPS. No progress on Wookey on Monday. Got the boulder out, fell back in again.
