I dont know why we consider spending 1000's on a YBOD when it looks like every one lse is just knocking them up in the shead over the weekend

Duncan is on here...... Im sure he'd appreciate it if maybe you only included the weblink. especially since its friday night and any calls are likely to interfere with ale quaffing. (evidently not in kent, where you dont have real beer)

Why thank-you! Especially for plastering my details across the Internet (doesn't matter as I'll be out of work from the end of September). A photo of the rebreather factory is here: http://www.sump4.com/rebreather/rebreather_factory.jpg some action photos of your truly diving it in Florida are here: http://www.sump4.com/rebreather/d5_animation.gif and a picture of Rick's unit is here: http://www.sump4.com/rebreather/rick_stanton.jpg

Build cost for the D5 is <£500 + O2 monitoring system. I've now got a very nice custom dual ppO2 display as used on Rick's (£240). His has been to 120 m (in France) and has been in and out of Wookey Hole on three occasions so far. Rick and John Volanthen have both been to the end - John used a modified chest mount unit here: http://ww1.hns.net/rebreather/

I've seen Duncan's and it's not a bad old bit of kit. Worrying amount of plumbing fittings, water bags, rocket tubes and Swagelok fittings though.... but it looks that simple even I could see how it worked. Anyway- for all you homebuild rebreather builders out there, never mind B&Q and army surplus, have a look at proper industrial plastic fittings.
Here are some links for you:
Plastic sheet: www.plasticsplus.co.uk
Industrial plastics: www.georgefischer.co.uk
Valves and fittings: www.eurovalve-uk-ltd.co.uk
Flexible hoses: www.flexibleconnections.co.uk or arco.co.uk

The flexible connections guys will also weld up polyurethane counter lungs for you. Tough as old boots.

Thanks - and also for the nice backplate. I do have enough bits lying around for a duplicate O2 rebreather if you want to inflict it on Digger...

Duncan

PS. Will someone rate my posts as dodgy as I'm trying to "improve" my record.

PPS. No progress on Wookey on Monday. Got the boulder out, fell back in again. Photos:

Hi Duncan

The vest is great, I saw it last week, if you speak to RIck before me can you ask him to get me one across town and I'll buy him a beer, are you going on Monday or not?
