| In a word, NO. I used to dive a Rec Wing with 12's and 2 steel 7's without any problems. Size isn't everything. Cheers Simon

| Get yourself a 7ltr ali and you won't even know it's there. So if your wing is doing a good job now you will not need to change it, the only thing against getting an ali cylinder is the price. Allan |

you forget that the weight of the first stage offsets this. You don't need extra weight with Alu..... As for the "extra cost", who's telling you this? you're being fed a line matey /Zak

| Personally I prefer steel stages as I have shortish arms, so the narrower profile means I can reach round a steel stage more comfortably. Obviously the best thing would be to try each in advance - your instructor might be able to help there? Where are you based? PM if you fancy borrowing a 7 steel for a dip in Wraybury. Juz

The same is true of steel so why bother? The extra cost was told by Kent Diving, Dive Macheen, Blue Ocian diving.....

| Mark - is the 7L in your picture completely floating, or just tail-up? (ie if you let go of the boltsnap would it go up or down)? Just curious to know how they compare to the old & new Al cylinders. David |
