| 02 cleaning OK guys I've just spoken to the LDS owner and found that the course has been pushed back to Jan. Funny that he called while we've been discussing this! Anyways, I asked him exactly what the course qualified you to do with respect to the 02 cleaning of cylinders and he's response was," not entirely sure and need to check that with PADI", but he also said that, "if you were to come into the shop midweek when we're not busy then I would let you clean your cylinders for free if you cleaned one of ours at the same time". He also said that the whole thing was a bit academic, since most people didn't have the ultrasound bath need for proper 02 cleaning anyway. So, I await the shops response from PADI and wil post up what I find in due course! ta Andy |

I assume it's only the valve bits that get ultrasonics. nigelH |

| There is NO legal standard for annual O2 cleaning. Not a jot (and I have checked with HSE). Equipment has to be O2 clean and that's it. There is no reason why you could not go and pick up a bottle of RS citrus degreaser, an ultrasonic bath and some crystolube and do the job yourself then affix your own sticker. Then again you could always just take the whole lot down to Divequip and get it done for 11 quid like I do and save yourself the hassle.

| You sometimes see these stickers on Ebay. I wondered myself why not just buy them, stick them on and there you go. Irresponsible but fact that you can buy them (and fill your cylinders with anything in the interim) does leave the system open to abuse. |

Hmmmmm that £11 for one tank sure but when you have 18 tanks??? like I do. And dont forget they charge you for the manifold separately. £9.00 at my LDS so a twin set is £29.00 to 02 clean. I am well up for this cert card it would pay for its self inside a year. What the hell do you need a US bath for on a tank??? There is just nothing on a tank and manifold that demands US cleaning, you could do the whole thing with a toothbrush ATB Mark Chase

| Who are these guys ? I am too embarrassed to say how much I paid my LDS earlier this year...... Anyone in London/Essex area recommend anyone who can get close to this price ? or even 2 or 3 times the price (and yes, that would still be a significant saving to what I paid........
