Imported post I've not long had my cylinders hydro tested and they came back without any additional stickers or marking. Does this regulation not just apply to newly made cylinders?

Imported post Dom, There's a guy in Belfast that was selling stuff on Ebay and through the web from a closed down diving shop.... http://www.suboceanservices.net Site's offline at the mo but he can be mailed through EBay (search for member "suboceanservices") - he was selling gas stickers for 50p! HTH

Imported post Due to the original price being based on a mis-quote, I can now report that I can let people have the stickers for 50p each. However: Whilst these are official stickers supplied by SITA (I can scan in the IDEST receipt if anyone really wants to see it) they ARE different to the ones you get sold by dive shops. Specifically, they measure only 3x15 centimeters. This is great for me, with my 7L cylinders, and for anyone with a pony, but if your dive shop is likely to kick up a fuss about them not being as big as the ones they sell, you might like to bear this in mind. Also if your cylinders are covered in mesh, they probably aren't going to be big enough to be visible underneath the stuff.

Imported post I would recommend people consider getting these stickers at what appears to be a reasonable price. I have discovered a few problems with the current legislation (As have a lot of people). As I understand it :- If your cylinder was test prior to a date that I can't remember - doh, It does not require a sticker as long as it is still in test. When it is retested it must have a breathing air sticker affixed (probably at additional cost to the test (most places are charging between £2 and £2.50). So when it is next due for a test people will have to pay for a sticker. However this aside I have stickered all my cylinders as some filling stations do not seem to know what the legislation actually states and are ensuring all cylinders are stickered. I can't be bothered to argue the toss with these places as the cylinders would have needed a sticker eventually anyway. Regarding the net covering the sticker, I must admit I don't worry too much, if anyone wants to question it I can always slide the net down. Kind Regards, Daz

Imported post <font color='#000080'>Last month, I had my wife's cylinder tested. (It was its first visual test). I now have a cylinder with a new test date stamped on it, and have a test certificate saying all is well. Now my question... Do I need a sticker on the cylinder? If so, what should it say? (The cylinder is used for Air only, is yellow with the black/white quarterings around the neck...) Thanks for the help... abucksdiver

Imported post <font color='#000080'>For a start, the colour of the paint and gubbins is irrelevant. As for the stickers, have you checked that the sticker witht the next test date doesn't have "breathing air" written on it anywhere? If it does, it's ok (at least I've had no problem getting a fill on mine) All these massive stickers I see with big green diamonds on them are unneccesary, as far as I know. It just has to be clearly labelled with breathing air, nitrox, or custom mix/trimix.

Imported post <font color='#000080'>Thats the problem... there is no sticker on the cylinder. (The test date is stamped onto the cylinder itself. So I need a sticker with just "Breathing Air" on it? abucksdiver

Imported post <font color='#000080'>I would have thought you could go to your LDS, who will have stickers with breathing air, but also some next test stickers. Then again, I don't know if it has to be stickered. I would have thought that having it stamped is better, as it can't get ripped off, changed (in a hurry, anyway), or interfered with in general. You probably need a Breathing Air sticker at the minimum if it was tested since the change of rules.

| Imported post Got a couple of mine tested a month or two back, nicely stamped but they lost paint in the process! Hammerite anyone?
