Cylinder Hydro and O2 clean

Afternoon all

Just got back from guildy from picking my tanks up from testing. Just noticed that my 15l does not have a IDEST sticker on it - am i missing something here. The cylinder has been stamped on the neck. I seem to remember as my ickle sister pulled the last one off (about 1 year ago) and when I went to a *cough* shop in derby *cough* they refused to fill it as the sticker was not there

Ideas?

Cheers

Keith

I might well be wrong but as I understand it,

As far as the cylinder test goes it is THE STAMP on the cylinder that counts. A sticker is just an added extra because after a while the stamp can become difficult to read!

If you are just talking good old 21% AIR then the stickers absence should not be an issue.

If your cylinder is marked up for Nitrox and you want anything other than 21%, Then there must be a VALID O2 service sticker on the cylinder, as well as the Stamp.

Hope this helps.

Cheers.

Paul.

IIRC there is no legal requirement for any IDEST markings, the requirement is for the bottle to be tested in line with BS... whatever it is. Stamp and cert is all that is needed.

I had my banded indies filled up at Stoney on wednesday and the chap said he considered not filling them with clean air as one of the O2 clean test stickers had come off, it is fully nitroxed and labelled as such and I only wanted clean air! I'll get a new one tomorrow.

[added] they were filled with the clean stuff though.

They really are tossers at stoney...... I'd really have to be desparate to get a fill there. Still, I guess they get a lot of hassle from punters <shrugs>
