Hose problem.

Never had this before, but...

My wing inflator is jammed onto the nipple.
The collar won't pull back.
I've rinsed it in case there was grit in there but no joy.
The collar moves around freely and pulls back a little bit, but not far enough to release.
I know how these work and am guessing one of the ball bearings has come out of it's channel.

At the moment the only thing I can think of it to use a thing spanner to unscrew the nipple form the inflator then replace it and the hose.

Any ideas would be appreciated.

The only other thing I would suggest is maybe adding a little heat to the connector/nipple once your removed it from the inflator, then hopefully you can salvage at least one part!

Good luck

when you pull the collar back can you see the c-clip (not the right name but you know what i mean) if you can you should be able to remove this, by prising it open, then pull the collar off over the end (toward the nipple) be ready to catch the bearings. if there is something jamming the collar going back it may let it go forward.

worth a try at least.

Thanks guys, I'll try those, I think I can just see the c-clip.
I suppose if heat doesn not work and I'm resigned to scrapping the hose, I could cut the collar.

Probably obvious and already tried, but I've got a hose that sticks sometimes unless I push the hose towards the nipple fairly hard as the collar is pulled back...

Close, It was really stiff that it felt to me like it was jamming on a misplaced ball-bearing.

I took it to see Bob thinking that he'd have a thin enough spanner to get the nipple off with the hose attached (I tried a bike spanner but the open ended bits wer the wrong size).
Anyway he did so we got it off, I'm expecting to have to cut the collar to at least save the nipple, but a few taps with a wrench sorted it, then it had a little clean and lube and it's all ok - all FOC.

I was so overcome I ordered a Pony and two valves for my Kiss (at similar to Go-Dive prices).

So yes, I'm happy with my LDS
