how do you change it from right hand hose entry to left hand entry?
it says in the book you can but doesnt explain how

Well, other than taking the reg apart and swapping over the 'plug' and hose there are only 2 other things.
1. The hole the air comes out of needs to be changed over (little grey plug)
2. The Venturi vain also needs to be moved to the other side.
