There used to be a place called Chesterfield Cylinders. Otherwise it's DiveVenture who don't test them themselves but send them to Stoney. If they are old enough to need an eddy current crack test then just bin them as Stoney will probably fail them as they haven't a clue how to test them properly.

Older HOAL cylinders were made out of an alloy that goes brittle and cracks over time and lots of cycling. After a few went BANG they introduced a new test regime for them.

Normally a hydro is just over 20 quid. With the current test though, this could make them more expensive to do.

Have just noticed your edit- those cyls should be fine for the bog standard 20 quid test.

Aaaaah no you can't cos he's not sorted out the accreditation.

IIRC Go Dive are about £20. They use Stoney too.

Try Mike Atkinson, PADI CD and IDEST tester - 01709 877222

He is also a hydraulics engineer and will know what to do with em

Not in Chesterfield but not too far from you

Matt

The cylinder will need a visual OR a hydro- not both.
