Dont get carried away by the latest gizmo.

The ATX40, 50 100 are stunning regs and small and light

The TX40, 50 100 are stunning regs but bigger / heavier

Save your self some money and go for the ATX or even the TX range

ATB

Listen to Chasey. He speak good. I use a TX40 and it's a lovely lovely breathe. Better than the ATX100 I have too.

The ?TX 200 is just jewellery. I reckon the best Apeks reg is still the TX50. The 1st stage routes better in every way and the 2nd is more robust than the ATX. XTX is nice but at the moment pricey unless you want to go with a LH reg.

As usual YD advice comes thick and fast, I am considering the ATX but as the XTX was not that much more I was going to opt for the latest kit.

Thanks for you input.

I have a atx200 1st and second stage on my primary and a ds4 and tx20 on my pony. if i was buying today i would buy ds4's without a doubt, and any tx second stage that exhausts round the side of my kisser rather than infront of my face. No need to spend more than you need, cos the internals are the same

I have to agree here.

I have TX 40s ATX 40s TX50s ATX50s DS4s and DST's

I have breathed air to 70m on them and trimix to over 100m. I have dived them for 7 years. They have only ever been cleaned by me never professionally serviced. I 02 clean them with Biox and I replace the diaphragm and seats once every two years.

Whats the difference between the TX and the ATX? Size

They are bomb proof and provide a faultless breath regardless of body position.

I have no idea what more any one could ask of a regulator.

I spend a lot of money getting the best kit to go diving with but I feel absolutely no compulsion to replace my regulators.

I have a couple of Mares regs and an ATX 40.

I need a couple more regs and will be getting ATX40s. I choose the ATX version over the TX simply because of the size and weight, but I have used a TX40 and they do breathe very well. After the Mares regs - I wanted small and light

My intention is to go to my LDS and say "Do I need to bring back a couple of regs from the Dive Show, or can you do me a deal now". In all honesty, I would rather get them from my LDS for few reasons, but if he can't come close to a decent price I will be buying at the NEC.

Ignore all that 'entry level' nonsense.
