Which Pony?

There's a plethora of cheap Pony kits around from online dive shops. Some even below the price of a semi decent set of regs. Yet some sets with better known brands are significantly more expensive. Opinions please on best set up and clamp. Thanks

SDS do (actually it's been a whiole since I got mine...) a really good deal on the apeks DS4/TX40 combo reg, I'm sure they'll do the cylinder as well as a set up deal

mounting - there are many options to this

pony bag - a bit rubbish in my view, I borrorwed one years back but it didn't hold itself in place on the main cylinder
pony clamp, or buddy band - these are the better option if you're gonna backmount
you cna invert the pony, you'll be able to reach the valve if its leaking

or best of all IMHO

sidesling it - you can clip it onto the rings of your BC, hand it to someone else if they need it underwater, also if a pony is bubbling then you can easily shut it off as you'll see it bubbling, and it's easily to stow the 2nd stage along it's body in a neat package

hope this helps
Ed

For what it's work I say.
Get a Apeks Atx 40 Reg with a DS4 1st Stage (din fitting),
Faber cylinder and Metal-sub pony bracket.

go get wet :-)

Ally cylinder. Much less weighty than steel underwater.
