din connections

i have 2 posiedon cyclons. 1 is a 232 bar din and the other is a 300 bar din. the shoulder of the first stage on the 232 bar din reg is half the size of the shoulder on the 300 bar din reg. so if i fit the 232 bar 1st stage valve into a 232 bar cylinder valve everything is as it should be. but if i fit the 300 bar 1st stage valve into a 232 bar cylinder valve its only holding on 2 threads because of the shoulder being twice the size of the 232 bar ist stage valve im told that this is ok but this cannot be right or safe as you dont seem to be able to buy 232 bar din anymore you are told that you can fit 300 bar din into 232 bar cylinder valve i would like to fit 300 bar cylinder valves into 232 bar cylinders so that i can fit my new cyclons and they will screw down all the way im told that this is also incorrect because of blowing the cylinders to 300 bar

There is no picture so I cant see, but if the 300 bar Cyclon 1st stage bottoms out in the 232 bar pillar valve and the o ring in the cyclon makes a seal then surley it uses all the available threads and is safe.

you could get the din fitting changed for a 232 bar version on the 1st stage if there is something Im not picturing correctly.

Got to try my Jetstreams into 232bar valves, they should have just the same 1st stage as Cyclons. A cap from other brand DIN reg doesn't fit anyway so theres some difference in sizing the shoulder...

Works well! Maybe you should try it to some other 232/200bar valves if there's just differences btw manufacturers/models?

A 300 bar reg screwed into a 232 bar valve is perfectly safe. It should just screw in 5 turns rather than the 7 turns of a 300 bar valve.

300 BAR regs are fine on 232 valves the fact you have visable threads showing dose not mean they arnt up to the job!
Save your money and don't fit 300 valves on 232 cylinders, in fact you may find some places will not fill your cylinders and others who are not on the ball may acidentaly over fill them which is not good.
