I thought, like Kirky that I was right in taking the wing and suit inflators off the posts he mentioned. It appears not, this means that I will need a longer hose for the wing, or will I?
And as for using my wing as the 'last resort to breathe off'. Let me tell you, you're only LENDING my primary reg whilst I don't need it OK

Bloody #### - and I thought it would be simple !!

OK - the logic of the `rolling open` valve versus the `rolling shut` approach is logical - and I suppose if you risk assess the setup for OH environments then it will reduce what I consider a very low risk (albeit one time is too many)

So, if I`ve got this right the setup is as follows:

(assume I have the kit on so left tank is on left hand side)

1. LH tank

SPG fed to left & under arm
Drysuit hose fed to right, under right arm to drysuit
Secondary reg fed to right and on a necklace

2. RH tank

Primary reg fed to right
BC inflator hose fed to left, over shoulder and onto BC
SPG - optional

Actually - when I think of it its not much different from my single 12 + pony set up apart from primary reg moving from left tank to right tank and secondary from right to left.

Phew !! - getting there slowly. All this before I even get to slob nobs and long hoses !! - I`m gonna enjoy this !!

Thanks folks - any more advice will be welcome - finally are there any web sites that have photos of the set up you folks recommend ??

Of course you could always flaunt the trend and go for the inverted setup, a la RN et al , been considering that one for a while myself

Jeez Steve - not got the twins yet, head spammed on set up and now you want me to invert `em !!!! - Ahhhh, my beloved 12+pony!!

Seriously though - I will probably try this out eventually just to see if it works better for me or not.

Hello,
Here is a link with pics to help you get you set up done. Altought I am not DIR, this link from DIS UK is very good.
http://www.dis-uk.org/gallery.htm then go to twin setup in detail. To get your best setup it all depends on your type of 1st regs, on link there is for Scubapro and Apex. In my opinion first you have to have a model to start on and then is diver preference. For example I dive independends for now, and as half of my diving is wetsuit diving I use double inflator, so more hoses! Another good idea is to us Ap Valves hoses which can be custom cut by user.

Regards and enjoy

kirky

your drysuit hose wouldn't go from the left post right, it would go the normal route down and under your 'left' arm

The only two hoses which pass behind the neck are your backup reg from the left post going right and the wing inflator hose from the right post going left.

Other than that the primary reg is fed from the right to the right and the spg and drysuit is fed from the left to the left.

Hope that helps a little, it sounds confusing at first, but once you have it like that it not only works but you know that every concievable variation has been thought about and tried out by the worlds most extreme divers, there is a valid answer to every question you may have as to why certain hoses are routed certain ways.

regards
Dave.

Unless like me you don't have the rotating drysuit valve, hence my DS feed still comes from the RH side tank.

Hmmmm cheap piece o'crap!! buy a better one you tight geordie git!!

Seriously though Steve, I think even though it's not a rotating one it could be moved to point in the correct orientation and then tightened down again, I'd check

If it can, then you will get the benefit of consistancy of hose routing, same as your buddy's (emergency scenarios) and 2 separate pillars feeding 2 separate bouyancy devices.

Pierre - thanks for the link, like you say start off with the model and then adjust to your personal preference.

Steve - Daves right about the inflator - most unscreww so you can move, then tighten up again.

Anyway thanks for all the info from everyone, its mucho appreciated

Dive safe !!

Ok Ok you guys, I can see "resistance is futile" I will allow myself to be "assimilated into the collective" ;):robo:

However I will now have to root about in my spare hose collection to see if I have a longer hose for my DS feed, and if my suit leaks now, someones gonna get an ear bashing ! :umnik: :director:
