Buying Cylinders

I'm about to buy a 12ltr steel cylinder and 3ltr pony from Go Dive - if they've got any of the cheap ones left.

Is there anything I need to consider - or is one cylinder much like another.

They'll be used with DIN'ed regs, but assume the tank valves are convertable.  Both will be 232 bar.

The weight of cylinders can vary quite a bit.  Most faber ones are pretty reasonable.  

Double check on the valves to make sure they have removable inserts and also I would try to confirm when they are due for test,  not much point if they have been sat around for 18 months.

Inserts are removable and bloke in shop says due for test in 2 years.  Ordered the tank and pony last night.

to reiterate that properly check the test date.  some places have in the past sold new tanks with the test up to a year in the past, leaving said buyer with a test due sooner that anticipated!!

If you are using the tank just for air take the valve out and put some waterresistant grease on the neck of the thread that stops it from rusting, as they are not painted in that spot because of the o-ring seal.
