| Imported post This question has been raised very recently on the dis newsgroup. The verdict was that whilst it appears to be a good idea several people on that group have had problems with it jamming. And this was within a few dives and not due to lack of service or maintainence. The concensous being that its not reliable enough to use. Hope this helps

| Imported post I think it's intended for filling SMBs. If so, it's presumably better than using your octo, but not much!

| Yeah from what i understand instead of pushing the plastic button in on the normal valve you press the red button on the hose to fill your drysuit and also it can be detatched to fill SMB's and such like. Im just looking for infomation on how good they are from anyone with experiance. Rory |

| Imported post Just out of curiosity, how many failier points do you recon it is possible to accumilate in a single kit config. That is one scary bit of kit Andrew

| Imported post <font color='#0000FF'>I've got one of those. If fact I think it is "less scary" than a regular suit inflator as it is easier to remove than my old one. Why should it have more failure points? it has a valve just like your suit valve has, except it is on the outside. ok so it has a swivel fitting but so does your high pressure spg. Never yet had any problems with it sticking either open or shut, nor can I see why it should be more prone to sticking than my old suit valve. In fact the only valve which has ever stuck open on me is my wing inflator, (which is about to be dismantled and regreased this week). Also, I believe that as a safety feature, in the event of a problem they tend to freeze shut rather than open, unlike a regular suit hose/valve arrangement did to my buddy yesterday (right Drifty ?). I got mine for filling my dSMB as it is safer than getting your reg anywhere near something which is about to go up while you stay down. Also, for those who like to practice breathing from their wing inflator in an emergency situation, this is another potential souce of air. Steve |

| Imported post <font color='#0000FF'>I had one of these on my first ND dry suit and in the end I had a least 4 new ones as they kept failing. I eventaully bought a different kind it was much more robust than the ND one but even that keeps jamming. I only use it now for inflating DSMB's. I now use the Apeks ones. Hope this helps Fiona |
