It's back

All
Just thought I would pass on some experience. I know there are a lot of people out there who do not like the CD (Slob Knob), who say you should be able to reach your valves etc. Im not getting to an argument about the why's and wherfores, just passing on my recent experience with the item failing.
If you look at the first picture you will see that all that attaches the end where the black knob attaches to the inner cable is a crimp. The other photos just show how it all goes together.
It would appear that in this instance the crimp just wasnt up to the job, when you turn the black knob the end connection simply turns on the cable, ie you cannot shutdown. This has worked ok for the past year.
I would recommend that anyone who has one of these gives it a good inspection ASAP.
I have spoken to Custom diver this morning, and they have asked me to send it back for a free replacement, even though it's over 12 months old, so I cannot complain to much. Personally I question the use of a crimp in this arrangement, but I presume there are many thousands out there that perform well, so hopefully this is a one off.

Safe Diving

Roger

It's Back

A big thank you to custom divers, my slob knob arrived back today, all nice and shiny and now working perfectly, and all for the cost of a few stamps.

Who said customer service was dead. Do keep an eye on yours though, would hate to think there are others out there waiting to fail.

Roger
