Not a good day....Broken S555

Bit of a problem...

Did not have a particulary good day today as despite all indications to the contrary and excellent vis yesterday it was bloody awful today.

To top it off I have somehow broken my alternate reg a S555 (I know it a bit OTT for an alternate, but its waht I had). I think it took a hit when the twins were lifted into the RIB. Anyway, whatever happened the polymer (plastic) exhaust moulding has brokenleaving only a very small peice and the exhaust diaphram completely exposed. As it is it is totally US.

Does anybody know 1) If I can get just a replacement plastic body,
2) roughly how much it will cost and
3) where from?

Many thanks all,

most places can get you replacement bodies for the regs usually not that expensive. Just go to an authorised scubapro service centre although some might want you to let them fix and service it in which case including parts your probably looking at £100, if its just the body £50 max

try Blackpool Area Divers! 01253 869188 they maybe able to help, as they are a scubapro service centre and dealer

I dont doubt that service will be "Required" even though the reg is only 6 months old.

I am toying with the idea of taking this on the chin and just getting a new R290 or 390 but is a shame as this reg is so new....

S555 broken body

You should be able to get the complete set serviced at a S/pro dealership at whatever price and they should be able to get another new body from S/Pro for about £15.00 extra. Only one set of labour charged. I'd guess at change out of seventy notes plus any P&P.

From your description it is not quite clear which part is broken.
The exhaust cover is held in place by a stainless pin and the reg case has a hole in each side where the pin goes. If the exhaust cover is missing and no pin then all you need is a new cover and pin, the pin should have a slight bend in it to stop it coming out. If the holes on the case have been broken off a case is not difficult to replace. Suggest you call Wittering as you are on the sussex coast.

Thanks for all the advice and help, The problem can be seen in the attached image.

Got it to Ocean View diving in Lancing and Dennis has replaced the entire case for £20.00.

Excellent service as usual Dennis and a big thanks for sorting it so quickly, -
