| Check first to see if they are already O2 compatible, then get them O2 cleaned if they are not already compatible then the seals etc will need to be changed to a compatible set as well. Dead easy, apparently. Most seals are already good for 40%, some these days are 100% compatible. MyM

| I use standard Apex regs with 80% o2 all the time. So far so good ATB Mark

| To 50% I wouldn't bother getting them cleaned... as long as you know their history and they have been pretty well looked after you'll be fine.

| If you O2 clean them they are fine for 100%, the reason why viton orings are used for replacing standard ones is that they break down slower than normal orings, Ive used the standard Kits for all my stage and nitrox regs with no problems. Its like the Poseidon Xstreams, they all are the same from the factory except different covers, one for air (black), yellow(for 50%) and the white for 100%, theres no difference in the oring or lube used, technically they are all O2 clean, Ive used MK25/S600's from the box up to 80% and never a problem.

| So, if I've had them from new, I would be fine to 50% and I should just replace the O-rings with viton ones? That's good! |

| What they said I've used an Apex DS4 with 100% for the CMF valve on my breather for the last 4 years, just got around to servicing it last night Anyway all the o rings are in good condition with no signs of deterioration ![]() Only joking but I will be using a standard service kit but with crystalube instead of silicone. On a 50% you should have no probs IMHO. Regards Karl

| If your really concerned get them o2 cleaned and serviced at the same time? Personally I only get regs serviced when they break, so if you can vouch for where your regs have been you could use them. However the o2 service packs are the same price so the cost for o2 clean AND service should be exactly the same as a normal service IMHO well maybe a couple of quid more. The only difference comes in when they use a *more expensive* chemical i.e. biox in the ultrasonic cleaner, o2 lube i.e. christolube and they wear some gloves . In all honesty you could do it yourself at home there are plenty of manuals about it online. Look up vance harlows book. |

O2 clean means nothing inside the reg has flamable grease that could cause a o2 flash or fire. When o2 regs are cleaned only a o2 compatable grease is ever used (if done by a profesional and not someone in their shed) |
