Apex Egress

Has anybody used an egress? I'm thinking of changing my octopus to one of these as I like the idea but hardly ever see one on a boat.

My Buddy has his as a secondary necklace reg... its low profile, quite small and can be used anyway up... He likes the idea.

Although he tried it at 30m and was surprised at just how badly it breathed compared to his ATX50.....

Below 30m I would think you'd be ok... but as an octopus I'm not sure...

If I was out of air and needed lots quick and you handed me one of them.... then it would be a big shock to you, that I took the one out of your mouth....

That's why I fancy one - just thought it would be good option to use as an octopus.

I've been thinking the same and having never seen one on the boat, i go into the pool tonight and a new club member has one

Looks ok, i did not get chance to try it though, maybe next week.

Simple question.

Would you use an egress as a primary?
No? Then why would you rely on it in a fubar moment.

If it was that good, we'd ditch ALL our regs and be diving on them.

I have one and have used at 30-40m. It was okay but it was warm water, no stress.

It has been relegated to the spares box, for no particular reason other than I prefer atx 40 as the secondary..

Bear in mind that the internals are different to other apex regs so no common spares etc.
