I used to get trimix fills with no cert for over two years

I once presented a TDI Trimix blender card and bought nitrox for a boat full of divers.

I wouldn't count on being able to do it. If you leave the card at home you're bound to get the conscientious guy on the panel... And when he says 'No' we have to agree with him.

In my LDS, I wouldn't expect to have to show my cert. Mind you, I do teach the nitrox course for them.

However, if I go anywhere strange, where they don't know me, i should be asked for it, but sometimes I am not asked. I never know if this is because they seem to know me (mebbe something to do with being gobby) or whether they don't care.

most dive shops will ask for a card (if they don't know you) but I quite often drop my twin 12's and stages in for filling and rarely (if ever) have my card.
Sometimes I get challenged but it is not the norm and if they challenge me I can usually justify the fill based on my kit config.
I've never been refused a fill but I've quite often been challenged (a paradox I guess)
Paul

Countrywide I have rarely been asked for mine, as long as they are stickered up and in test that seems to be enough.

Is it actually a law/rule?

Safe diving,
Steve

this i find strange

1. you dont need any certs to dive if you buy the kit you can just do it
2. you dont need certs to buy gas if you like you could buy as much as you need from air-products without question

so why do dive shops get so upset about it ???
