| Regulators and Cylinders: Discuss Converting CFT to Litres....? in the Dive Kit and Equipment forums: I'm being a bit lazy I know, but is a US 13cft cylinder the same size as a UK 1.5ltr...? ... |

| assuming WP is 3000 psi, it's equivalent to a 1.8L cylinder at 207 bar. GMP has a cylinder equivalence tab, imperial to/from metric. JT |

| Hi Andrew, Google has a great calculator, just type in "13 cubic feet to litres" and click search. ![]()

| Yep, you need the cylinder's pressure rating for the conversion to be meaningful. Septic allys are usually 3000psi, steels are of ten in oddball ratings, sometimes quite low compared to UK cylinders. Convert the cu ft to litres to give the free volume of air, divide by the pressure rating in bar to give the water volume of the cylinder. Cheers, Stuart

| To convert cuft to litres, multiply by 28, then divide by the pressure of gas e.g. an Ali 80 = 11.2 litres 80 *28 = 2240 2240/200 = 11.2 to convert PSI to Bar, divide by 15. HTH Mal |
