7.5 ali's

Guy in our club has given up diving and has been selling off his kit. He has a couple of out of test 7.5 aliminium cylinders for sale and from experience he will say " make me an offer. "

Now I want to be fair for us both so what would be a reasonable price to offer for one?

Interesting.

Are these 7l or 7.5l? What is the age of the cylinder? What is the valve? How long for O2 and tests? What pressure?

These all add up.

I have just bought 2 old style 232bar Ali 7 from Gary (WWD) for £100 each and they have 18+ months on hydro and just been O2 cleaned.

Son, you're going to have to make up your mind about growing up and becoming aircrew. You can't do both.

The aircraft limits are only there in case there is another flight by that particular aircraft. If subsequent flights do not appear likely, there are no limits.

If they are older than about 10 years (can't be bothered to look up date and standards) they may require the additional eddy current test too.

And according to the test certificate I have for my old Ali the test interval is 2yrs not 2 1/2yrs.

Right I have just spoken to the ex member and he has given me this information.

one cylinder is 3 years old and is a 300 psi 7 litre ali and is still in test but never been nitroxed. What is 300 psi? He doesnt know what type of valve it is apart from he said it was din. I dont think valve names mean much to him.

The other two cylinders are 7.7 and he used them twinned up. These are in test but out of 02 service.

So does that give enough info to recommend a price?

I guess thats 3000psi (200ish bar) as opposed to 300psi (20ish bar).
