Poseidon Xstream Deep or some other reg

Hi all

I been looking at getting my own regs and just got a few questions first is that i really like Poseidon Xstream Deep but i heard that if you do a dive above 30m then they have a tendness to free flow is this true?
Also would anyone recommend anything else?i been looking at the apeks xtx 200 and the mares protons.
So any info would be useful as these are prob the most or one of the most important bit of kit and they also are expensive!
Cheers and safe diving

David

No.

They did feel that they breathe easier at 70m then they did at 10, but I never had a freeflow from them regardless of the depth.

Apeks are good regs, the XTX40 on DS4 can be bought for £170 each, which I think is a real steal for excellent regs.

Mares Abyss are good regs also.

Not that I ever noticed.

They have a tendancy to blow your tonsils out should you (be stupid enough to) press the purge button.
They have a tendancy to free flow when the cylinder falls below 15bar.
No free flows with any sensible gas contents though.

i used to have mares protons and hated them then switched to apeks xtx 200 and love them.

I have xtreams and no its rubbish... they will freeflow at -20bar in less than 2 meters of water... but at depth no, they are great.

I would reccomend them in a heartbeat. I also have Apeks XTX200's and XTX50's... stange enough, but the 50's are easily are as good as the 200.

So save yourself some money and buy the XTX50's. They really are superb.
