I have being reading the posts re Steel Vs Ali & 7 Liter stages.  I personally use steel tanks as do all my buddies but I recently used a friends 7lt Ali travel and it was lovely, nice weight and more importantly hung right in the water, out of my way unlike the steel.

BUT my big issue is tank size, I see everyone talking about 7 liters, its not enought, I use twin 12 with 10's as my travel and deco.  Air hog you think, actually by bottom RMV is 18 and deco 16 in full rig, 13/14 on a single tank.  7 liter does not contain enough gas for bail out, ie both you and your buddy doing all the deco on one tank. 7 liters won't do two people for 30 mins.....

So is two 10 liter Ali tanks the option, I am not sure, never seen anyone talk about them.  I think they would be very big.

Any ideas... comments....

thanks
dave

10 ltr tanks are esential beyound 60m unless you have a very low SAC. I use a 10 ltr low 02 deco (travel) gas and a 7ltr deco (Hi o2) tank in this range.

The Luxfor 10ltr tanks are -1.6 Kg full and plus+1.6kg empty. Two 10s will give 3+ kg lift empty and thats a lot of lead to carry to counter balance the rig but its is similar to the 7ltrs which are + 0.6kg empty so you should be used to the additional boyency on empty tanks.

The Catalina ali cylinders are 0.0 when empty but unfortunatly +2.5kg full.

Faber Steel 10s are - 2.3 kg full and -.75 empty
