If people are travelling - even if its not far - we should be in the centre. Not everyone can navigate the city pissed like the locals can!!!! I know a few pubs/bars that serve food, I was at the Courtyard last night as the food there is about £7-8 for a hearty main course. Has nice "sofa-y" areas for chatting but then can get a bit louder aas the night progresses with ample room for booty shaking! Or there's a couple of Chinese buffet places. Poss try and streer clear of posh places - they are too expensive and booked up.

Any thoughts let me know

I would have loved to come and met everyone, but the 4th is out with work commitments, and the 18th is already booked for another Christmas party. If by chance it becomes the 11th, I'll see you there.

David.

Courtyard sound good. Another option could be Stick 'n' Twist (Weatherspoons). Foods cheap but pretty good & being a Weatherspoons can at least hear ourselves talk! If we fancy something a bit more upbeat later on Baja, Yates, Risa etc. are only just over the road.

Just an idea, I don't mind where we go really.

Change of plan. Am now ok for 18th. Will be bringing wife and a mate - non YD but is a diver.

Any agreement on where and when yet?

Thumbs up So it's the 18th December then?

OK, assuming it's the 18th December (shout up if you're not happy), the YD 'Hard Northern Bastards Christmas Tour of the Northern Provinces' list looks like this:

The Strict Non-adherence to the Shandy Code Team:

* 01 Kath2407
* 02 Porg
* 03 Pertty Flowers
* 04 Colin Marriott
* 05 Fluice
* 06 Paul Beal
* 07 Tanx-a-Deux (Andy2Tanx)
* 08 Jay
* 09 Air Assisted
* 10 Sue (Mrs Air Assisted)
* 11 Kev W
* 12 Linda (Mrs Kev W)
* 13 NeilM
* 14 Bren Tierney
* 15 Fiona Tierney
* 16 Simon TW
* 17 Jen S
* 18 His Digsness
* 19 Alun
* 20 Geoff Milne
* 21 Mrs Geoff Milne
* 23 Geoff Milne's Oppo
* 24 ??? - ADD YOUR NAME HERE!!

OK, from what I've read here in the thread, the Chinese buffet place sounds the ticket - do we need to book it? If so, who knows where it is and are you prepared to book it for the group? Will they need a deposit? If so, how much so we can get our hands in our respective pockets and hand over some folding?

Agree wholeheartedly that this should not be a posh/restaurant do! Pub with seating space (that means getting there as early as poss and an advance recce team to try and whole on to seats for the rest!) for sundry sherry imbibement, banter and gigglesworth.

Let's have yer names and let's do this!
