Thumbs up YD'ers at Easter in Dover....
YD Easter Gig at Dover hits the news spot on Dover CG's website

The plan so far & will be updated as we go along .

1). There will be a chance for who ever wants to have a guided tour of the BUSIEST coastguard station in the UK. This will be a spur of the moment thing.

2). Have a look at the NEW coastguard boat, meet the crew and look at all the kit .

3). Someone famous will be around to give out autographs, and if his work permits will be on one of the DIVES. ( As he is changing jobs at the minute, we will have to wait and see ).

4). The GREEKY will be doing a quiz, something like a general knowledge, buy the questions pay a fee and see what you win ....Fee's going to the RNLI and CG Ass'n.


Much more, but not saying much at this stage

A tour of the Dover Coastguard station is recommended. I did it last year and was very impressed by the expertise there. They can actually co-ordinate a mayday call anywhere in the world. Their communications is stunning and well worth looking at. Go for it if you get a chance.

I second that - went a couple of years ago and it was a fascinating visit, highly recommended.

It went though a major refit 18 mts ago ( costing the tax payer 7 million ) , Rob .... Was the microwave dishes there , when you were ?

Yup, I've been around the DOVER CG Station as well, well worth a visit.
