hang on a minute.. I walked up and down that car park many times with my video camera and not one polyester clad person did I see..

I dunno.. much chest beating before the event, only for the main event to be a damp squib.. But then it was cold I guess..

I have witnesses from both teams who will verify that I did indeed have the Speedos, wellies, lego and dildo and I whipped one of the Meccanno teams arses with a green threadbare towel.

Miniumum effort to win and I didn't even get cold.

Damn. A camcorder moment (and potential £250 TV screening fee ) missed. Bugger.

So did anyone take a piccy? I want to see it... I think.

I hasten to add they were only in the back of the car so the wider world did not get to see me poured into Speedos. Sorry. At the time I was stood by Gizmos car accusing it of being the gayest one in the car park and trying to persuade him to play Elton Johns "Are you ready for love" at full volume as he drove out of the car park with the top down. I mean- if you are going to drive a car lke that you may as well buy some leather trousers with the arse cut out.

Typical bloody Lego spin doctor. He cunningly and without warning whipped the the towel out the back of the car in a dastardly sneak attack. Whipppp ... crack went the towel, but the cowardly move was skilfully avoided by yours truly with a faint to the right and quick pirouette to the left. Of course I could have struck a telling blow with a flick of my thinsulate beanie but symbolic victories mean little, It's all or nothing to the Meccano Men.

Thats my story and I'm sticking to it

Roll on the summer gig
