Hiya Matt, I've been quietly following your progress for a while and I have seen your site. It sounds like you have got the bug - I felt that excited too when I started (and still do!). Glad to hear you are making good progress. If your signal for surfacing is to close your eyes, why not keep them open for another minute and stay down a bit longer?
Look forward to the next installment - thanks for the write up

Vonny

Just fantastic! I can imagine you desperately trying not to blink for a full five minutes!

Five minutes under water is some serious time. Congratulations. You're an inspiration!

Thumbs up

Hi Matt,

that's a fantastic achievment for you I reckon there must be some kind of code you can sort out so they know you want to stay down longer.

Thanks for the update and good luck for your next wet.

Safe diving,
Steve

Hey everyone! Thanks for the great messages, it means so much to hear from all of you. About the butts thing... that came out all wrong... want I MEANT to say was "I can't wait to see some fish instead of butts" because butts is all I see when I'm underwater at the pool (lol). Next time I go in the water, I hope to shoot for 8 minutes or more. Take care and safe diving!
Matt

Matt,

Let's not be too hasty here ..... if you are talking butts (as in the ocks type) then surely it depends on the butt in question as to whether ....... sorry, I'll shut up now!

Glad to hear you beat the time you set yourself.

Please excuse my ignorance on the subject of your illness but, if you are able to shout, your support divers should be able to hear you if you shout through your reg. I have managed to talk to someone whilst wearing my Ocean Reef FFM.

As with everyone else, I am looking forward to hearing your next installment.

Rgds
Bryan

Hi Bryan,

Thanks for the email. Sorry, you don't have to shut up. Yeah I can probably scream in my mask, but it's probably safer to just have the comms. Especially when you have a couple support divers hanging onto you, I want the message to be clear.

Take care and have a great day.
Matt

Matt,

Yeah I guess it would be best.

Just a word of warning - everyone in the pool will be able to hear what you are saying to your support divers! So be careful if there are any lady divers in the pool 'cause they will be able hear you if you say things like 'nice arse' or 'cor, luvverly tits madam' etc!

Bryan
