Hello again
just to keep you all on your toes, here is the thought of the day, if you are ever unfortunate to have to call for or need the lifeboat.

The reply you will not get is "sorry mate to windy or those waves look a bit rough your on your own."

As you know we are doing a bit of extreme ironing to raise funds for the RNLI who are all volunteers.

So if you don't fancy humping your kit up a mountain then how about sponsering us by sending a £2 coin or cheque in the post so these guys can get all the funds they need.

Sorry but your preaching to some of the converted, I am a RNLI Governor and have been for many years.

But keep going there are a lot on here that aren't, I would prefer to see them become members though.

I'll come along if I can, happy to bring hot tea and fags to keep YDers going! No good at ironing, if I show willing the bird will get me doing it all the time!!!

Please let us know the dates and YD will try to turn out, best thing is to post the date in the calendar and put it in the title of a thread (if you need a hand doing this the mods can edit the title etc if you need it, ask and for a worthy cause I'm sure they'd be as useful as they can be)

Just to help out as much as I can. I'll try and do some carrying and general sherpa-like work if I can make it, but I've got a little soft round the edges in recent years, so no fell-running in standard dress for this chubby Digger!!!

Will you be able to climb up carrying 16 kg, we also need someone with a decent camera to do the picces sort of from the bottom half way up and then if you can scamper up the top and take the sweaty thank god for that pictures as well as the kitting up ironing piccies.

Or just come along and do the tea and fags thing, may not get many takers half way up

Wel, having some fun posting.

So, second time round - I'm game. 16 kg should be ok, there'll be no running mind you, and I expect a team of willing volunteers (any geisha girls on hand to ease my aches) to cheer me on and help me out.

Anyone else notice how I got out of that triathlon, and now I've dropped myself in this??? Crazy. It's got to be easier than all that running, swimming and biking.

Might want to set up a page at justgiving.com so YDers can donate and help you out. Worked very well for the Wozettes when they were doing the marathon, and it's very quick and easy. Also m any are in other countries where they can't easily send donations, so saves them effort that might put it off a bit.

Where is it exactly? We're going up a mountain I presume somewhere? Are we going diving when we get there? Bog Snorkelling?

Ok its on the top of Pen-y-fan in deepest darkest Wales (baahh) , as far as funds go the idea we thought of is to get everyone who wants to, to donate a £2.00 coin or cheque by putting it in the post or if we can get the bank details from the RNLI then direct to the bank.
