This year’s speakers will include: Monty Halls, Leigh Bishop and Loyd Grossman. The event is held in support of Scuba Trust - a charity devoted to giving people with physical disabilities an equal opportunity to experience the pleasure and excitement of scuba diving and the underwater world. Entrance will be free, but please register early as tickets went quickly last year! To register see link below. http://www.londondivingchamber.co.uk...=events&page=4 Date: - Thursday 2nd February 2006 Time: - 6.30pm (doors open at 6pm) Location: - The Royal Geographical Society, 1 Kensington Gore, London, SW7 2AR LEIGH BISHOP – ‘Lost Liners’ Diving the world’s most famous Ocean liners Deep & Shallow! Leigh Bishop is regarded by many as Europe's foremost deep wreck photographer specialising in the exploration and documentation of famous deep wrecks. He will take the audience through a visual experience of some of the most significant sunken ocean liners on the seabed today. The presentation will focus on a 'then & now' theme, taking you on a virtual underwater tour of historically famous Ocean Liner shipwrecks. See the famous Lusitania on the seabed today, the gold ships 'Egypt' & Laurentic, Titanic and a comparison with her bigger sister Britannic! The largest sunken ocean liner in the world! The talk will also touch on sensitive wrecks such as that of the Nazi liner, Wilhelm Gustloff, lost with great loss of life in the icy Baltic Sea, as well as lesser known liners but just as important such as the Transylvania, Justicia and the Leopoldville. Original 35mm slides taken in depths deeper than 120m will be concluded with a short film of technical divers exploring famous ocean liners as well as a sneak preview of what’s to come. MONTY HALLS – ‘The Great Ocean Adventure’ – the making of the series Monty Halls is one of the country's leading explorers and marine biologists. He recently presented a series for Channel 5 based on one of his latest expeditions, ‘Swimming with Giants’. Monty Halls will talk about the making of the series, as the film crew went in search of the greatest animal encounters in the oceans. He will bring the adventure alive as they circled the earth in pursuit of whales, sharks, rays, dolphins and manatees in over five continents. Monty is one of the most respected diving explorers in the country. In 2002, he led a multi-national team of adventurers and scientists on an expedition to South East India to discover the ruins of a lost civilisation beneath the sea, establishing him as a new star of British exploration. He recently presented the series ‘Great Ocean Adventure’ for Channel 5. His first book 'Dive - a guide to the world's top 60 dive sites' has was published along with 'Totally Wrecked', a 90 minute film following the exploits of a team on one of his many breath-taking 'Full Circle' around-the-world diving expeditions. LOYD GROSSMAN Loyd Grossman has been a keen diver since the mid 1960’s. During this time he has dived many of the world’s great locations and become involved with a number of charities dedicated to the marine world. He is a Patron of Scuba Trust and Shark Trust, as well as being an enthusiastic supporter of the Whale and Dolphin Conservation Society.

| I'd like to go to this. If anyone happens to be driving from the north past J26 on the M1, I'd love a lift and of course share petrol costs, chocolate etc.

| Booked on, hope that it is as good as last years, well at least we will get 3 people who are used to speaking in public rather than miranda krustywotsits and that photo bloke who was trying to sell a course.
