| Cashin' in the shears karma for cherity...! :D *Sticky Please!* Right then - time to cash in the greens and good karma from the shears escapade... A few years back, my friends Jo & Ruth at my local pub lost there daughter Angela to breast cancer, ever since they've run charity events to help raise money for biopsy machines for the Countess of Chester Hospital. These basically allow them to take biopsy's without risking breaking the lump up and it spreading to other areas - which is what happened to Angela. A week on Sunday is their annual turkey trot event - which basically involves strapping a frozen turkey to your back and running around the roodee race course in Chester. Now, I did this a couple of times by setting stupid targets to make it more challenging - I tried to do six laps in an hour last time - which is about 8 miles - took me about an hour 20! D'oh... Anyway... How could I make it more of a challenge I thought last night on my nth guinness... I know - I'll do it in SCUBA gear!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!??????????????? So, a week on Sunday I'll be doing six laps of the roodee race course in full scuba gear to raise money for charity.... I won't be using my twins though, I think I'll go for a 10L on my buddy commando! What I'd really like is some of you guys to sponsor me for the event? Just a one off amount for me to do it... I'll post pictures up from the day and hopefully we'll be making it into the local paper too... I'll set the ball rolling: 1. Justin £5.00 |
