In that case something like an inshore lifeboat would be perfect, if we all committed to reaching a hard target, rather than random events.

i would be supportive of that.

Would someone like to collate these suggestions into a running list in this forum? Add other suggestions to the bottom of the list as you go along. I would do it but I am desperately trying to get my desk cleared before tomorrow. Have I mentioned I am on holidays next week?

All IMO

RNLI no, but independent rescue outfits yes.
Specific Air ambulance good.

What about diving related medical?
PFO's, diabetes, asthma? any units doing research into those areas?

Scuba Trust ok.

Not sure about enviromental. Again like RNLI they get a wedge off many
of us and while I've got nothing against per-se, think that a smaller more
specific target would be better.

So suggest some small ones!
The problem we have here is that we think it might be nice, but we don't really know any of them. the other issue might be that whatever it is, it would be easier for people to identify with it if it did national good, rather than very local.

P.S. with so many worthy charities maybe we could adopt more than one?

We'll see what the final votes results are Steve. I don't want to spread it too thin either. I'll bear it in mind.
