Scimitar Charity Dive Friday 23rd October 2009

    Hi All,

As some of you will no doubt remember, last year we had an excellent time on our charity dive to the M2 in memory of our dear friend Alice (AKA Kanga) and at the same time managed to raise in excess of £1500. This year we hope to do raise even more money, using our new 12-man RIB "Sabre" and hopefully with support from local companies whom we intend to approach for raffle prizes. Anyway, please pull up a rock and let us explain our cunning plan.........

On Friday 4th September at approx 10:00am three boats (Scimitar, Cutlass and Sabre) will depart from Castletown, Portland each carrying 12 divers. This year's charity dive site will be the St Dunstan in Lyme Bay, and the charity that we will be supporting is St Dunstans, the organisaton that supports ex-service personnel with sight difficulties. Details of the great work they do can be viewed here: St Dunstan's - St. Dunstan's

The dive: the St Dunstan is an excellent wreck and the tides for our planned dive are perfect with a slack period of 2 hours. Check out the dive site at: Wreck Tour: 40, The St Dunstan - Divernet. After we have all had a good dive, it's back to Castletown for BBQ and beers.

Cost per diver will be £35, all of which will go to this very worthy cause. (As mentioned above, we are hoping to get some seriously good support from a couple of local businesses, and if we do then the £35 will buy you a raffle ticket for a couple of great prizes - even more incentive to come along!)
