What a F*&kin day

Had a meeting in preparation for a customer proposal this morning, managed to escape with a single action, writing the technical proposal.

Spent the whole day writing some finely crafted pseudo marketing techno babble, some of the best I have ever invented when.......word goes into bloody over drive and my machine crashes.

I managed to get some hope from the guys in systems, when one of them managed to find a cached copy, but then the hope was withdrawn when he accidentally overwrote it.

I thanked him for his efforts and went on about my own investigation and managed to find a slightly older copy with about 90% of the work intact.

What a pants day

Sorry, just had to have a rant

BTW on the positive side, I don't know if anyone has mentioned this, but a few of us are off to the Red Sea on Sunday

Sorry

Conor

Yes, and today was divine retribution for going on about it all the bloody time!

Having had similar experiences to you, I've now got word to autosave approximately every 10 seconds...

Fair comment

Yup, I normally have no problem, but today, I'm clever and open it directly from an email so it gets autosaved but in a obscure corner of my machine.

Ho hum

You think you're having a bad time of it.

Got back off holiday in the Red Sea (Wrecks in the south - very good) to find that they'd canned my project. Two years of work. And the reasons they're giving for cancelling the project are all lies - I know, I've seen the performance data.

So someone has canned my project for political reasons.

Joy, joy, happy, joy. Still, at least I've been able to spend shed loads of time on YD over the last couple of weeks
dan.

ps. Have fun in the RS. I'm not at all jealous. Honest.

Sounds scariley familiar

I came back from the red sea, and first day back in the office I bumped into a guy at the coffee machine who I had interviewed about 6 months previously. While I was away he had been hired, given my job title and project, no surprise he was an old friend of the new boss.

Anyway, he couldn't make it work so I ended up doing it anyway

The last time someone tried to that to me I had a quiet talk with them. It's amazing how some people's email and Internet usage seems to "malfuction" and how details of their useage can leak out to the board......
